To navigate the uncertainty, complexity and pace of today’s business environment
you believe that...
...the quality of our unique human capacities is the linchpin for success in a world increasingly managed by technology
...sustainability depends on increasing choice, building resilience and enhancing collaboration
about
our story
What struck us is that people are getting stressed, sick, discouraged — even clinically depressed — from the place they spend most of their time . . . work!
Through our research we began to understand that the costs of burnout in the workplace stretches far beyond the individual. Not only does it have a negative impact on loved ones, social interactions, and without a doubt, on society as a whole, but organizations also pay a high price. Organizations find themselves with employees that are less focused, less engaged, and less resilient. Drop-out rates related to work stress run close to 40%, critically impacting the bottom-line of businesses around the globe.
The workforce is beginning to recognize the problem. Yoga and mindfulness related to business is the latest trend. With this in mind people are now efforting to maintain a balance between private and work life, stressing about squeezing a yoga or mindfulness class into their already packed work week.
How can we transform this roadblock into an opportunity? How can our daily work activities and interactions be the vehicle for increased connection with ourselves, our intentions, while growing the business revenue at the same time? We would have the opportunity to practice 40 hours a week!
So that's where we started: By developing programs to provide people with the experience and tools to reconnect with themselves and others. Using daily interactions to improve as human beings, strengthen collaboration and build excelling and energized teams. Building awareness in boardrooms and in executive teams that organizations have a great opportunity, and even the responsibility, to create a healthier workplace. Supporting organizations to be the positive impact this world needs.
Change the Workplace, Change the World

'We have to teach something that is unique to humans : our soft skills
Everything we should teach should be different from what machines can do'
- Jack Ma -
how we work
We believe that the workplace can be changed from an organizational, team or individual perspective. No matter at what perspective you start we always work on three different things.

connecting with
yourself
Being effective starts with strengthening the relationship with who we are as a human being.
That deeper connection with what drives us often got lost. Persistent stress and pressure leaves us depleted, unsatisfied and unbalanced affecting the relationship with the world around us.
We provide you with the building blocks to gain control over your thoughts, emotions and actions. Being in touch with your self creates peace of mind, strengthens mental abilities and lets you stay on top of things.
IT BEGINS WITH YOU!

connecting with
others
The quality of our unique human capacities - our soft skills - is the linchpin for success.
However, creating and maintaining lasting human connection is one of the most challenging aspects of our lives. Misalignment decreases trust, accountability, flow and self-confidence, negatively impacting the bottom line of organizations.
We create an exploratory environment to recognize your habits in the context of human connection and practice the ability to stay present and centered in interaction, even under pressure.
TRUSTING HUMAN RELATIONS
DRIVES SUCCESS!

connecting with
the greater good
Individuals, teams and organizations are more effective if there is a strong sense of purpose.
In our competitive world we easily retreat into short-term thinking and goal setting. The lack of a compelling, clear direction creates disconnection, disengagement, confusion and uncertainty about the future.
We set you up to develop courage and grit to be true to the greater good and confidently stand up for what is right. Creating spiritual and emotional freedom to bring the best out in your self, inspire others and contribute to our shared humanity.
BECOME THE POSITIVE IMPACT
THIS WORLD NEEDS!
'Under duress, we don’t rise to the level of our expectations -
we fall to the level of our training'
-Archilochus -
our difference
Piling on additional knowledge is not likely to bring desired change.
For change to occur we need to identify the relationship between our thoughts, feelings and actions. Where the mind can deceive us, the body never lies.
When the body comes to mind, we create choice, develop resilience and cultivate the ability to connect with ourselves and others in a more profound way.
The easiest and quickest way to build awareness about how we are perceived in the world is through direct interaction with others. That is where the ground is most fertile for developing understanding and practicing change.
That's where transformation starts!

what PEOPLE say
Effective, practical and fascinating
Karin helped us build stronger team awareness that improved our effectiveness. Her approach reveals, in the moment, how you interact with others. It was fascinating how our daily interactions showed up in easy to access exercises. Practicing new responses increased trust and provided us with hands-on tools to help to get the best out of ourselves and each other. Karin is professional, down-to-earth and relaxed. She engaged even the greatest sceptic.

eye-opening, simple and transformative
I learned how to connect with myself and to stay connected under pressure. I’m able to influence my energy and interaction with others by being more self-aware. It was an eye-opener how the body is a simple and effective way to practice change and create sustainable transformation. The tools provided are easy applicable in my daily life and work and helped me to build my presence and leadership

on-the-spot, powerful and balancing
By being able to connect my rational mind with my body, I increased my self-awareness and experienced the relationship between my posture, how I feel and how I show up. The practical skills Karin provided me with enable me to make ‘on-the-spot’ choices in my behavior. I feel much more effective. I am now able to connect to how I feel during my activities and that got me more balanced and in sync. The power of the method of Ki to Change is that it is sober and concrete.

who we are
Karin Karis |
owner Ki to Change,
somatic leadership consultant and facilitator
author - public speaker
"I have a lifelong dedication of understanding and working through the body. As a coach and trainer, and in my former work as occupational therapist and physiotherapist, I worked for over 25 years with amazing individuals who have overcome physical and life challenges to find resilience, purpose and fulfillment by working through and with their bodies.
I hold my 3rd degree black belt in aikido with over 20 years of intensive martial experience. The principles and philosophy of this Japanese martial art combined with a profound knowledge of somatics and neuroscience form the fundamentals in the way I work. I studied intensely at the Strozzi Institute under the direct guidance of Richard Strozzi Heckler, a pioneer and authority in the field of somatics, embodiment and leadership.
My study and experiences have given me the ability to examine and connect with the body and work on leadership in a deep and profound way. My ambition is to share my knowledge of the power and wisdom of the body to create sustainable impact and transformation for individuals and teams.
I believe that by changing the workplace we can change the world."
